Provence

The Vaucluse region of Provence in the sunny south of France is where piercing blue skies meet mountains and hill top villages. The surrounding countryside offers undulating hills where Marcel Pagnol and Fredrick Mistral, Picasso and Van Gough drew breath and inspiration. Acres and acres of gnarled old grape vines; row upon row of aromatic lavender; olive groves as far as the eye can see. The colourful farmers’ markets overflow with fresh produce throughout the year and the local cafes are ‘the’ place to rest, recoup and regard!

Aix-en-Provence, Lourmarin, St. Remy-de-Provence and Mt. Ventoux are nearby to explore. Visit Marseille and Cassis, the Camargue and Nimes. Enjoy lunch on a barge whilst drifting down the Rhone River from Avignon to Arles.
